Molasses Perservation Enzyme

Mol Protect (TRS Enhancer /Preservation Enzyme) and M-Bcide

Alcohol production is closely linked with the total reducing sugar content in molasses. Higher the TRS , higher is the alcohol production. Additionally, molasses contains carbohydrates which act as nutrients for microbes. These carbohydrates deteriorate and reduce the TRS and thus the quality of molasses during the storage period degraded. Mol Protect is a proprietary blend of enzymes and anti-oxidants that not only arrests the deterioration of molasses but also increases its TRS content thereby increasing the overall yield. Mol Protect offers unique physical and functional properties primarily designed to offers predictable, consistent performance and tolerance to process variations including differences in the substrate quality of molasses.

Benefits of Mol Protect

  • Mol Protect is totally eco-friendly in nature.
  • Mol Protect is not designed to replace biocide applied during storage to prevent microbial contamination. So biocide dosing as per usual client practice should not be stopped.
  • The enzyme is to be added in molasses tank and thus cannot have any effect on the sugar. It has no effect on molasses quality or fermentation.
  • Reduction in loss of TRS during storage by every 1% yields approximately 5 additional litres of alcohol per ton of molasses leading to a gross benefit of INR 225 per ton of molasses (Price of alcohol considered at INR 45 per litre).
  • Mol Protect acts on complex polysaccharides as well as control bacterial contaminations.
